Peer reviews!

WOW! People are so talented! The Peer review system is so easy and quick! I didn't understand why we had to submit our postcode as our password! Weird I know! The peer review I did was very formal, simple and adventerous! Her social learner page was about saving the Kimberley's. I enjoyed reading all about her struggles and strategies to overcome such problems. Now I know that I wasn't the only one that had trouble with downloading the PDF on my website. Her blog was packed full of information. In depth research was done on the website that she chose to do her activities on. Her final presentation was immaculate. I was so proud of her and the effort that she had put into creating her webpage! I hope she enjoys her learning journey as a teacher! I wish her all the very best.

The LMS system was down for a couple of days so getting into the system was hard. I have submitted my assignment however to this point I can't find where to view peer reviews for my website. I don't know whether its because other people can't access the Learning System or people aren't doing the peer reviews. My unit coordinator sent an important notice out, saying to be patient. I hope the system stays up so people don't have trouble tomorrow, submitting their asssignment.

Crunch Time

Well it's getting closer and closer to the submission date! I hope I'm not the only freaking out! It's definatly been a learning journey. I have finished my instructions for creating your very own Fotki account, which is great. I had to google how to attach it to my website, because I could not find out how to attach a PDF. I went on the Zoho Forum, which was very helpful by the way! I should've discovered that way sooner!

Social Learner

So with the social learner page, I have chosen the event which is 10th anniversary of Michel's Patisserie! I want to collect various photos and put them all together of different coffee designs. The three websites that I have investigated are Phootime, Photobucket and Fotki. I have chosen to us Fotki as it is easy to use and I know how to use it from when I was in high school. Phootime was very narrow with the people that you could let in to assist with the photo sharing board. Also you had to have Facebook to sign in, and not everyone has facebook. Photobucket was alright however, it seemed boring as you could upload your photo but add any effects to the photo. With my issue I think it would be good to have a webpage that allowed you to edit and crop photos.  Below are pictures of coffee's I have done in the past! I hope to get a whole album and put in together!

Getting there!

Today, after the lecture, I felt so relieved. All my questions/queries were answered. I liked the idea of the lecturer Jenni Parker, got a peer to have a go and showed us how to get started. I practically know nothing about technology but I fell as I’m getting more confident. To an extent its quite fun discovering all the different ways of creating your own webpage.

In one week’s time, I have gone onto the Learning Management System (LMS), and have re-listened to lectures, printed off the lecture slides and have started to get my head around making my own webpage. My goal for the next week is to create my home page, my contact me page and start thinking about my social learner page. What’s great is that if I’m having a problem, I would go onto the discussion forums and find that someone else is also having the same problem.

I have decided to use Zoho as Jenni showed us a little bit about it. Let’s see how it goes!

Welcome to my blog! Getting to this page was STRESS-FULL! I'm a bit of stress pot. I guess this course is going to be good for me to learn how technology works. In the first lecture I was so confused, even after the tutorial I still didn't really understand the whole concept of exploring the web and finding out what social pages to use.
